After graduating from Middlebury College and serving in the Peace Corps, Ian honed his winemaking skills at Bonny Doon Vineyard. Today, he crafts exceptional wines under three distinct labels—I. Brand, Le P’tit Paysan, and La Marea—at his own winery, I. Brand & Family.

In 2018, Ian was named Winemaker of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle, recognized for his ability to uncover and elevate little-known vineyards to greatness.
